A Homemade Natural Toothache Pain Relief Remedy

There are many reasons why toothache occurs and the most common is the presence of a tooth abscess or cavity. Should the pain strike late at night or in the early hours of the morning and there are no pain killers in the house to fight the pain. What do you do?

Use garlic as the emergency toothache pain relief – mix a pinch of ground garlic with rock salt and then apply it to the tooth every 15 minutes until the pain completely disappears. Garlic has anti inflammatory, analgesic and antiseptic properties that are excellent for toothache. You could also use peppermint for this purpose. Take about five grams of peppermint and drop it in a cup of rapidly boiling water and add a pinch of salt. Drink that at room temperature from time to time until the pain disappears.

Alcohol ,such as whiskey or brandy, can be used for toothache pain relief as well. Just take a mouth full and swirl it in your mouth. The alcohol has the power of numbing the tissues and reducing the pain considerably.

Then you have the modest clove which is touted to be an excellent home remedy for tooth ache. Take one clove and grind it slowly between your teeth. Whatever juice comes out of it, push it towards the affected tooth. Alternatively you could use a few drops of clove oil which is easily purchased everywhere. Put two-three drops on a cotton ball and press it to the affected tooth. This will give almost instant toothache pain relief.

There are plenty of home made remedies for toothache pain relief, however, they are meant to be a temporary means of managing the situation until you can see a dentist. Pain is the alarm of the body; if the teeth are paining it means there is something wrong and you should find the cause of the pain and have it treated accordingly.

If the problem is an abscessed tooth or a cavity, there could be other complications if the decayed tooth being broken, leaving only a jugged outline under the gums and only a specialist can determine the reason and provide pain relief.
